About Me - Mike's Story
I'm Mike Griffiths. I'm semi retired from a career in the software industry. I've had boats on the Solent for 20 years. When our daughters left home, Kirsty my wife and I moved to Lymington. I qualified as a commercial skipper and more recently as an RYA Powerboat Instructor. I also joined Lymington's HM Coastguard Search & Rescue Team.
I'd spend all my time out on boats or playing with boats if Kirsty let me. We got to a point in 2024 when I was spending so much time being paid to drive other people's boats that it made little sense to keep Zen Dog, our own motor cruiser.
Zen Dog had been a charter boat for 10 years so we had lots of disappointed repeat customers when we decided to sell. As a result, I started placing charter enquiries with other boat owners/operators with remarkable success. My Zen Dog Charters website is staying live until the enquiries stop!
Now, with a new business name combined with over 10 years of experience and an established network of the best boats and skippers, plus a great booking app that speeds and simplifies the enquiry process, I can make booking your perfect charter effortless.
